Sculptural ceramic totems about identity and belonging
Bold sculptural totems, handbuilt in my studio in southern Spain. Each piece is made to stand alone as a powerful object, exploring identity, belonging and the courage to choose differently.
Objects with meaning
For Studio Wild Orange, a totem represents something that stands for who we are, what we value and what gives us strength.
The sculptures explore themes such as identity, courage, transformation and belonging. Their abstract and organic forms leave room for personal interpretation. Discover your own meaning within the work.
Every totem is individually built by hand in the studio in Andalusia, Spain. Subtle irregularities, variations in texture and the traces of the making process are part of the artwork. No two pieces are exactly alike.
Handmade ceramic sculpture
The totems are made from ceramic and developed through a slow, intuitive process of building, shaping and firing. The material comes from the earth, while the final form is shaped by hand.
This tension between raw material and intentional geometry is central to the work of Ingrid: organic and architectural, powerful, grounded and expressive.
