I make things that stay.
My name is Ingrid Vermulst. I’m Dutch. I live in Spain and I spend my days with hands in clay.
I studied interior design at Insenia Design School in Madrid. Which means I don’t just make objects. i think in spaces. In proportion, atmosphere and the way things relate to another in a room.
Before I became a ceramist , I ran a hotel in the Netherlands. I still have a cooking studio there. I know what it means to create a space where people feel something. How important a space is to feel comfortable and welcoming.
That’s why I make what I make. Interior ceramics.
I believe in different. In standing out. In choices. I don’t believe in everything the same. Dare to be different. But it is oh so difficult.
My objects are designed to stay interesting. To make choices. To stay for years
Each piece is handmade in my studio in Spain. No moulds. No fast solutions. Inspired by the Mediterranean sea, surrounded by olive and almond trees. Each surface carries the mark of how it was made, and that’s exactly what it differs from other objects. My objects is more than clay, water and fire. It’s a dialogue with you. In forms, shapes and materials. A language about earth, rhythm and ancient processes. A communication about the time we live in and how I think about it.
Studio Wild Orange is for people who stopped looking for the perfect one. Who don’t want to buy objects which are boring after a few weeks. It’s for people who want something with a soul. Handmade by a person who put love and soul into the object.
Studio Wild Orange is for designers who want to offer their clients something nobody else has.
Curious what is possible for your space?
Let’s take a look together.
